The event started back on 2.00 pm with the next speaker

5th Speaker : Dr. Wan Nor Fitri Bin Wan Jaafar (Theriogenology)

Dr. Fitri shared about his background and it was interesting. He is a really cool veterinarian who go for his dreams which satisfy him. He really focus us on the study fields, our special character and our interest. GO WITH YOUR FULL HEART! He also explained us about scholarships and further studies. He got us in the right track to think abut our future.

6th Speaker : Professor Dato Dr. Mohamed Shariff Mohamed Din (Aquatic Medicine)

Prof. is a energetic person that really delivered his talk in a interesting situation. Prof. had explained us about the roles as a veterinarian. Prof. had introduce us to aquatic world :) Prof. also motivated us by working hard and enjoy doing things!

 

During Q & A session

It's the time the event comes to end. Associate Professor Dr. Siti Suri Arsyad, the Deputy Dean of Academic Affair was there for the closing ceremony. All of us really enjoyed and gained a lot of knowledge from the speakers. We also received some souvenirs and had a photography session. Thank you for all who involved to make this Vet Orientation & Career Talk happened.

Vet Orientation & Career Week 2016 (Final Day) - Part 1

On the next morning, we all wore our sports attire to participate EXPLORACE IN FACULTY! As usual, we registered and ate our given breakfast. The facilitators were so kind to help us. We gathered at auditorium in order to know our groups for the games.

The theme for this explorace is ZOOTOPIA. Our groups are formed according to the characters.

All the group leader were asked to come forward to the stage in order to introduce themselves in a creative way

My group was awesome and very energetic. We managed to finish all the task in time given. We had fun together and get know each other.

There was a video shown by the seniors about MALE VETERINARIAN in world and it was true and awesome :D

Vet Orientation & Career Week 2016 (2nd Day)

3rd Speaker : Dr. Kavitha Jayaseelan (Zoo Negara - Wildlife) 

Basically, Dr. Kavitha is my favourite speaker as she shared her career as a zoo veterinarian, my dreams <3 She shared her experience and duty at Zoo Negara with respective pictures. It was really interesting and impressive.

What a Zoo Veterinarian needs:

• Patient
• Passion
• Teamwork 
• Hardwork

What a Zoo Veterinarian got back:

• Overworked 
• Stress
• All day work (365 days) 
• Kicked and bitten by animals

1 word that tells everything about a Zoo Veterinarian is, ADVENTURE!

4th Speaker : Professor Madya Dr. Goh Yong Meng (Nutritional Physiologist)

Dr. Goh do really widened our thoughts and gave a better way to think about our future. He explained us academically as we will face this in 5 years. He thought us how to decide our learning styles that suites us the best to obtain best quality time and results.

For the end, we had Q & A session. I asked some questions to Dr. Kavitha and I received some cute souvenirs from Zoo Negara. Last but not least, photo session with Dr. Kavitha!

Vet Orientation & Career Week 2016

1st Speaker : Dr. Ardhy Bin Adnan (Department of Veterinary Services)

Dr. Ardhy had introduce us to veterinary training services in Malaysia, the history of veterinary department and much more. He really explained us about the department and the function of it. He told that we are so lucky to get place to study at FPV as a DVM student as the demand for a veterinarian profession in 5 years is really high and have a bright future if we can manage it very well.

2nd Speaker : Dr. Calvin Cheah (Royal Canin)
This cheerful Dr. had really had make us energetic after sharing his experience as a veterinarian in business aspect. I were very impressed on his effort to market his profession in the different field of work. He really nailed it! I had widened my knowledge about this veterinarian profession to whole new expectation. I think very veterinarian should spread out their wings to explore more in gaining new experience. Thank you Dr. Calvin

After that, there were Q & A session which many of us asked questions regarding on the speaker's profession. It was a wonderful session where we can clear up some of the thoughts and questions.

Vet Orientation & Career Week 2016

The program started at 2.00 pm on Friday after our class that finished at 11.00 am. All of us were very excited to participate and we were early for that :)

The first session was started with introducing the whole event and opening ceremony of the event by the dean. Speech from our dean was very dedicated and motivating :

• Introduction of FPV
• Students should be proud to be one part of FPV family (DVM)
• Teaching staffs - high quality:)
• FPV hope to be under 50 in the list of QS Vet School whole world
• Produce high quality student with good facilities
• To make sure all of 134 students in DVM 1 will graduate together in 5 years 
• Encourage us to join One Health Student Club and explore
• Get involve in all faculty's activities
• Be CHAMPION NO.1 

Then, introduction of Head Departments and lectures.

Vet Orientation & Career Week

This event was held on 30th of September - 2nd of October 2016 at Auditorium Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University Putra Malaysia. This event was a compulsory for every 1st year student to attend and so am I :) I really love the slogan : DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO. It suits everyone in this profession. This is what I want since 4 years old, to be a VETERINARIAN!

FINAL EXAM :)

Got 1 week to go for final exam. have to work hard in getting good results. Hoping to get dean's list this semester. Hwaiting !!!!
